1st Ashville Disc Golf Championships - Results

On a warm and breezy afternoon, Mike McKee walked away with the title of 'Ashville Disc Golf Champion 2005'. Twenty players met at the first tee and were given a brief introduction to the order of the day's play. Despite the stiff wind, players successfully navigated the first nine holes without losing a single disc, parents included!

After a fine lunch, enjoyed particularly by Tani (the big white dog), a distance competition took part, with Tom Blackmore ending up the winner with an excellent forehand drive of 78m. The lead group for the final round consisted of Mike McKee (level), Tom Blackmore (+2), Jonny Marson (+3) and James Bulmer (+4). Play continued to be tight, with all players dropping a stroke here and there. When the cards were handed it, the top three players had all scored three over par (+3) in the afternoon round to leave Mike McKee clear by two shots and the overall winner on the day - Picture Gallery
